The Rev. C. B. Rogers, age 91, of Canton, GA passed from this life on Wednesday, October 12, at Autumn Breeze Nursing and Rehab facility in Marietta with family members at his side. C. B. was born April 27, 1925 in Cherry Log, GA to Dewey and Sara Thurman Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Faye Pope Rogers and Son-In-Laws, Phillip Pettit, Jerry Fowler and Jimmy Blalock, Three brothers, J.D., Charles and Ralph Rogers and three sisters Bonnie Hilton, Edna Jackson and Mildred Lingo.
C. B. was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church. He constituted and physically built Rock of Ages where he pastored for 10 years. He pastored and preached the Gospel in and around North Georgia for almost seventy years. C. B. was a member of the Sharp Top Masonic Lodge and received his fifty year pin in 2015. He also served on the Canton City Council for twelve years. He was an insurance agent for the AIG Insurance Company for 32 years working in the Canton and Jasper area, retiring in 1987.

He is survived by five daughters; Ann Pettit and Joyce Blalock of Canton, Vivian and Tommy Culpepper of Cartersville, Mary Fowler of Jasper and Martha and Jim Gouin of Alpharetta and one son, Ray and Brenda Rogers of Ball Ground. He is also survived by nine Grandchildren and eighteen Great Grandchildren. Also, he is survived by one brother, George Rogers of Blue Ridge and five sisters: Ellen Moore, Barbara and Jimmy McVey, Betty and Tom Chastain, Judy and Mearle Beaver, all of Ellijay and Trudy and Jerry Gallman of Dalton, Ga.

Funeral Services will be held at Rock of Ages Baptist Church on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins and Rev. J. R. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2016, and from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2016 at South Canton Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rock of Ages Baptist Church PO Box 4055 Canton, Ga. 3114 in his memory.
