Obituary for Jeffrey Leon Bramlett

Jeffrey Leon Bramlett
Jeffrey Leon Bramlett, age 60, of Canton, GA passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at his home.
Jeffrey Leon was born in Winder, GA to William Leon and Mary Elizabeth Bramlett, joining his two older sisters Diane and Susan.

He graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in Winder, GA in 1975 and continued his education at the University of West Georgia where he obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Jeff met Cecilia “CeCe” Warner while attending college, and they married at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta, GA June of 1982.

In 1981, Jeff began his teaching career with the Cherokee County Board of Education. In 1990 Jeff became a founding faculty member of Sequoyah High School where he was joyfully employed until his retirement in 2010. Outside of the classroom, Jeff also coached the Sequoyah Lady Chiefs Soccer team where they attained numerous wins including multiple county and regional championships. He also shared his love for our nation’s capital by organizing his renowned annual Washington DC trip.

In preparation of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Jeff was presented with a once in a life time opportunity by his friend and colleague Price Webb to be involved in the newly formed Team Envoy Program. He had the privilege of organizing, assisting, and celebrating with the team from the Solomon Islands.
After retirement Jeff happily became what he called a “full-time grandpa” but, he was so much more than that. He also relished in being a full-time gardener, home improvement specialist, and genealogist, and generally surrounding himself by the people and things he loved.

Jeff was adored by his family. He is survived by his wife Cecilia, his daughters Katie (Toby) Hamby, Emily Bramlett, and his grandchildren Brayden (Hotrod) and Maci (Doodlebug) Hamby. He is also survived by his parents Leon and Mary Bramlett, sisters Susan (MJ) Everett, Diane (Jimmy) Stalnaker, and several nieces and nephews.

Thank you, Dad, for embracing the struggles of raising two daughters, especially when they attended the High School where you taught. We will always appreciate and miss that quick wit, constant retelling of our embarrassing stories, your landscaping and home improvement skills (which we benefited from), and the treasures you obtained for us during your Goodwill shopping sprees. We will celebrate you forever. In loving memory of Jeffrey Leon Bramlett.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Father Bob Blake officiating. A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Macedonia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at South Canton Funeral Home.
