Lillie Carolyn "Ridings" Bates, age 82, of Canton, GA passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at her residence. She was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 PM, on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from the Liberty Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Byess, Rev. Michael Ridings, and Rev. Pete Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, May 15, 2017, and from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at South Canton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Liberty Grove Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday May 17, 2017. The body will lie-in-state from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

She was preceded in death by, Husband: Bobby Bates; Parents: Hubert & Celia Ridings; Sister: Ara Jean Ridings

Survivors include:
Sister - Myrtice & James Strickland, Ball Ground
Brother - Jerry & Lynda Ridings, Alpharetta
Brother - Michael & Judy Ridings, Alpharetta
Sister - Beth & David Byess, Cleveland
Special Nephew - Robby Byess, Canton
Several Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends also survive
