Renay (Wilson) Phillips

Dear Steve, Jim, and David! I'm just seeing this obituary for your precious mother, and, my dear, sweet friend! I had no idea--I was out of town at the time of her death. I loved your mother--my mind goes back to the days at North Canton Elementary when Steve and I shared the same grade in school. Your mother and daddy were both so active in school activities! And, even though it was so many years ago, your mother, even then, was always so poised and put together...and, I always admired her calm, professional voice. I could sit and listen to her for hours! We didn't see each other often through these past years, however, each time we did, it was just like we'd been together forever! We picked right up, and just talked about the first one thing and another. I'll share a 'funny' and 'embarrassing' event that happened the last time we saw each other! It was at Darby Funeral Home, and I'm trying to recall who passed away that we were both there to see--oh well, I don't remember who it was, but I saw your beautiful mother sitting in a chair in the reposing room, and we got excited when we saw each other! I leaned over to hug her, and when I did, my nose dripped on her forearmπŸ˜³πŸ™€πŸ‘€...I said, "Oh my goodness, Joan, I'm so sorry--my allergies are going crazy...I can't believe this!!πŸ˜³πŸ™€". She began laughing (I wanted to cry), and said, "Renay, I can't think of anyone I'd rather 'drip' on me than you!!!πŸ€—πŸ˜Š)". With those words, we both laughed, hugged, and kept right on talking! I couldn't wait to tell my friend, Brenda Whitfield, about this!! We both cracked up laughing when I did tell her, and said, "Now, we know why little ole' women carry a hanky or tissue all the time!!!" πŸ˜πŸ‘From then on, when I'm asked to share a funny or embarrassing moment, I have to share about Joan and me!! (And, it wasn't that long ago that this happened--maybe 2-3 years, or so!!) I'm so sorry for your loss, but am certain, we'll all meet again one day in Heaven! May God be with each one of you!! My loving prayers and warm thoughts are there with you!! πŸ’βœοΈπŸ™πŸ€—
